Best Freeware
Tech Support Alert has a great annotated list of top freeware. Some of the utilities listed as tops in their class are: AVG Antivirus 6.0 Free Edition; AM-DeadLink, a bookmark cleaning utility; Dave’s Quick Search Bar, a toolbar that can search Google, Teoma, FAST and other search engines and includes many add-on features; and HTTrack, a web site ripper (used to download a web site).
